Honoring the Legacy of Joe Ryan

In 1998, Joe and Leslie Ryan took a leap of faith and purchased Reliable Electric. What began as a business venture quickly became Joe’s life’s work—a place where his leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to others shaped the very foundation of who we are today. From 1998 to 2025, Joe poured his heart into this company, guiding it with humility, integrity, and a deep love for people.

Joe’s ALS diagnosis in January of 2023 was unexpected and heartbreaking for all of us. Yet even as he faced a battle none of us could have imagined, his strength, faith, and steadfast spirit never wavered. ALS will never define who Joe was. He was defined by his character, his generosity, and the way he lifted others up—day after day, year after year.

Inside the walls of Reliable Electric, Joe was a visionary leader, a teacher, and a constant source of wisdom. Outside of work, he was a mentor, a friend, and someone who made every person feel valued. Joe believed deeply in serving the community, caring for people, and doing the right thing—even when no one was watching. His faith guided him, and he reminded us often that God is in control, and that any success—both as a company and as individuals—comes from the Lord.

Joe Ryan was an inspiration to so many, and his impact reaches far beyond the business he helped build. Reliable Electric is what it is today because of Joe’s dedication, his leadership, and the countless ways he invested in others. His legacy is woven into every part of this company, and it will continue to guide us for generations to come.
